The atmosphere at Caffi y Fan is warm and inviting, making it the perfect pitstop after conquering one of the many scenic trails in the area. With its dog-friendly policies and family-oriented vibe, it’s easy to see why groups flock here to refuel before or after their excursions.

Customers rave about the café's impressive selection of food and drinks. The breakfasts are particularly popular, fueling energetic hikers with hearty options that set you up perfectly for a 15-kilometer trek. Whether you're in the mood for a traditional Welsh breakfast or a slice of homemade cake, each dish bursts with flavor and freshness.

Speaking of cakes, the pastries are not to be missed. Dyan Roberts notes, "There's always a good selection, including vegan & gluten free," catering to all dietary needs. From rich chocolate cake to classic Welsh cakes, every choice is a delightful treat meant to be savored while taking in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Though reviews mention that service can occasionally be a bit slow during peak times, this is more than made up for by the café's stunning ambiance and the quality of its offerings. Kevin Arscott appreciated the atmosphere, remarking on the "stunning location" and the great mountain views, ideal for enjoying friendly conversations over coffee and cake. Despite a little confusion with orders, the overall experience was a positive one, echoing the sentiment that Caffi y Fan is a perfect retreat from a busy day.

We started our group walk from Caffi Y Fan having breakfast before setting off. 15 very satisfied hikers setting off on 15km hike. Dog & family friendly. Lovely staff, great views and good food!

Popped in for drinks and a couple of slices of cake. The cake was good and the drinks were average price for this kind of location. Service could have been a bit quicker, seemed to be a bit of confusion around the order. But the atmosphere was nice and it's a stunning location with great mountain views, plenty of walks to do and a decent play park as well.

A pleasant little café in a wonderful location, the perfect place to stop after a long, mountain centre walk. We often call in for tea & cake when walking that way, as there's always a good selection, including vegan & gluten free. The staff are friendly & the café always clean & tidy. The views speak for themselves, nowhere better on a lovely clear day, especially if you manage to nab one of the outdoor tables. There is also a large play park to keep children of all ages entertained & a craft centre above the café. So, if you are in the Brecon area, then the Mountain Centre & Caffi y Fan are definitely worth a visit.

I visited with a group for my birthday on Jan 1st. Even though we had kids with us, everyone was welcoming. As it was my birthday the lovely staff gave me a free Welsh cake. The hot chocolate was delicious too with lots of cream and marshmallows.

Lots of people love to moan over nothing! I had the sausage with mash and peas with gravy followed by 2 Welsh cakes. Main came out in maybe less than 10 mins and the Welsh cakes straight away. Food tasted great and the staff were friendly. Would recommend!
